“You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.”
Zeus is probably one of the most famous Greek gods in history. He was son to Cronus and Rhea, Ruler of the gods and godesses of Mount Olympus. He weilded the powerful thunderbolt and often hurled it in anger as he had quite a short fuse. Though married only twice (He swallowed his first wife to give him counsel), Hera is predominantly recognised as his wife. To say he had challenges with fidelity would be an understatement.
Having gained rule over his father through combat, being the third generation of gods, Zeus was insecure of his hold on Olympus when Rhea, his mother, created new beings. Fresh from his victory with Cronus, his father, he was stirred with awe watching these powerful beings. Bearing four arms, four legs, four eyes, two noses and two mouths; Zeus was struck with fear and trepidation.
Their power was tremendous and fearing they might threaten his ultimate rule, he decided to take preventive action. Rallying all his strength, Zeus split each human in half, rendering them less threatening. For all time since that moment, humans have been cursed to roam the earth looking for their other half.
Do you feel complete? Will you ever stop looking for your other half?
