Outside

by Drue Ogden,
Poetry

Your smile is like light
Light on my darkest day
Perfection at its best
Please don’t ever let it fade away

Sparkling eyes
They pull me in so close
Melt every bit of my soul
This is what I love the most

The touch of your hand
Sends chills all throughout
I breath faster
Driving me crazy without a doubt

All this is amazing
To find such beauty
Is only on the outside and not within

Your mood starts to change
And all in vain
I begin to hurt and suffer
Enduring so much pain

That happy smile
That touched my heart
Now spits fire and hatred
Leaving me torn apart

Those eyes that were inviting
Gentle and warm
Now judges all my moves
Looking through me
Piercing me, I feel deformed

Your mesmerizing touch
Now feels like needles to my skin
You’ve adopted wicked ways
Committing sin after sin

You're killing me
I take my last breath
You smile
Now there’s nothing left
