An Uplifting Reminder for Hard Days

To be completely honest, sometimes life sucks. Sometimes we don't know if we have the energy to make it through. Sometimes we don't know where we are headed or the why behind our circumstances. Sometimes our hearts break. Sometimes we lose people we love and our worlds are left in pieces. Sometimes we feel helpless and scared. Sometimes we don't want open our eyes when we hear the alarm clock beep.

But here is the thing: you did today.

Today you opened your eyes. Today you shrugged out of bed. Today you took a breath, you nodded, you stepped forward, and you continued. That's truly admirable.

And I know it was hard. To move forward is always damn hard. Being a human is damn hard. But you did it. You continued.

And so today, I only hope for one thing. I hope that you learn to laugh. I know your days are tough. I know sometimes you feel defeated, and you don't want to revel in goodness, because goodness has failed you time and time again. I know you ache. I know. I have been there.

But I pray you learn to laugh today, and I hope you laugh until it doesn't hurt as much. Until you forget. And I hope that laughter gives you strength. Because, trust me when I say that you are powerful.

Trust me when I say - you can do it. 
You will be ok. You will. 
Just go ahead.
